Because there is no standard way to notate a drum set chart, students and band directors are regularly challenged with interpreting charts with not enough information, too much information, or written with clutter. A native of St. Louis, MO, Kevin attended the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and Webster University. He has served as a faculty member for the International Summer Jazz Academy in Poland, the Webster University Summer Jazz Combo Camp, the Strike Institute, and the Jim Widner Big Band and Summer Jazz Camps. He maintains a busy private student schedule, and is in demand as guest artist, clinician, festival adjudicator, and performer.
He is a member of the Webster University Jazz Faculty, the St. Charles Community College Jazz Faculty, Brilliant Corners, The Dave Dickey Big Band, Jazz St. Louis Big Band, and The Hard Bop Heritage Quintet.
Among the numerous artists and organizations with whom he has performed with are Michael Buble, Nancy Wilson, Diane Schuur, Idina Menzel, Chris Potter, Billy Childs, Jon Faddis, Terry Gibbs, Rob McConnell, Bobby Shew, Clark Terry, Bob Newhart, Don Rickles, Jay Leno, The St. Louis Municipal Opera (Muny), and The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
