Jim Manley –

Known as a top St. Louis trumpet player for decades.  In the past few years he has branched out as a band leader, composer, and clinician.  Jim has been featured as a guest soloist with many school bands across the country.  Every year  Jim headlines at  Jazz at the Bistro to sell out crowds, as well as various jazz festivals around the greater St Louis area.  He was a featured soloist at the annual Trumpet Party in Amsterdam in 2006.  Jim’s group Horns in the House” was the opening act for the legendary Maynard Ferguson.  His approach to brass playing has gained world-wide attention via his many students and now several YouTube clips.  Jim is a clinician  and teaches players of all ages in his teaching studio at home and via Skype lessons world wide.  MORE…

Dustin Shrum –

Dustin is a highly-in-demand trumpet player and music educator in the St. Louis area.  Dustin is currently the Director of Bands at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School in the St. Louis Public Schools District.  He is also the Adjunct Professor of Trumpet/Jazz Studies at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, MO.  He’s also a first-call-level pro jazz player, currently playing lead trumpet in the Dave Weckl STL Big Band Contingient.  Dustin holds Bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Trumpet Performance from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, and a Master of Arts in Music from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.  MORE…

Step One – Download the Note Page

As you view the webinar, we encourage you to take notes as you go along.  Feel free to stop the recording and rewind as needed.

Step Three – Download the Action Plan Template

Choose either format; Word Doc or Google Doc.  After considering the key points that you wish to implement, describe the point in the ACTION BOX select a date for the initial implementation.  Then, select a date that you plan to review and assess the success of the implementation.

Step Four –  – for Optional PD Credit

Receive TWO HOURS PD credit for this video.  An 80% score or better will result in a Certificate of Completion emailed to the address you provide.  Those scoring less than 80% will be allowed to retake the quiz.  In order to do so, you’ll need to register in the quiz with an alternate email.
